5 Reasons Why You Need To Experience Travelling Alone

For the most part, it is embedded  to human nature to desire to experience of going to different places - away from home, from problems, where everything seem to be a new feeling. There are a couple of reasons on why this desire is being hindered, and one of the most common one is the lack of a travel buddy. There is something to going to a new place with another person that is familiar to you - it adds security and a feeling of relief that whatever happens, someone will be there for you. But as much as fun as travelling with someone can be, there is also fun in going solo! Here are the top 5 reasons I can give to convince someone to try it.

    1. Real Freedom

Going solo gives you all the freedom to decide whatever you want to happen on your travel adventures. You don't need to think what your companion wants, where to eat and stay, where to go first, what to skip, and a couple of very familiar stuffs that need to be discussed within a traveling group or couple. Going solo lets you choose all the things you want for your travel and cater to your taste. Planning is much easier, and adjusting things when you get to your destination will also be much easier when you don't have to think of someone else.

This feeling of having a world of your own is something every traveler must experience in their lifetime!

    2. Get To Know More People

Not every person is gifted of having a sweet tongue that lets you talk to anyone with ease. If you are traveling with a buddy, chances of you getting to know new people will be even lesser as you already have someone to talk and count to. On the other hand, going solo will put you in circumstances where you will have no choice but to talk and meet new people on your destination.

Imagine going to a bar with a group of friends. You won't really bother getting to know the locals or other tourist on that area right? But if you travel alone, you won't like the feeling of eating and drinking alone in places where having a companion is more normal. Thus it will increase the likelihood of you starting a conversation with the person on the next table, or it maybe even easier as it is possible also that they will be the one to strike the talk first!

    3. All Fun. Less Drama

We are all unique, just like everyone else. Ironic right? But nonetheless, even the closest person to your life will have some differences on their preference compared to you. These differences can make or break your traveling adventures. Going solo will prevent any drama from rising up during what is supposed to be a relaxing and happy vacation. Traveling is fun but can be tiring and bring you out of your comfort zone - a perfect scenario where temper will be tested, words will be thrown, and many more stuffs that you won't experience alone.

    4. Build Up To A Better You

Going solo will be a good test for yourself. It will test your physical limits as you don't have others to count to for assistance in carrying your luggage, or helping you on your feet. You don't have someone to talk to and thus will be force to interact with other people. The feeling of being alone in this world will push you to your limits and will surely contribute positively to your whole-being. If you survived alone, then what more if you have again  your trusted buddies at your side? This will help you build confidence that you can carry upon your return to home.

    5. Show The Real You

Going to a place alone, hundreds or thousands of miles away from home, can be quite releasing. The chances of you meeting the locals or other tourists again is very small, so you can fool around and let that hidden jolly spirit inside of you to finally go out. You can sing even without a good voice. or dance with two left foot, and no one will give a damn tomorrow. Being solo lets you enjoy your time to the fullest without having to think what others may think about you, something you can't do in the presence of other friends or family members.

I'm not saying  that traveling alone is better than being with others, but it sure has its own advantages compared to other options. You don't need to do it all the time, but be sure that do it at least once in your lifetime!
